The vegetation coverage steadily increased on the Loess Plateau in the last ten years. The steady increase of vegetation cover appears to have effectively reduced the susceptibility of the Plateau to soil erosion.
Most of the Loess Plateau fell within the minimal and low erosion categories during 2000 to 2010. The most important finding of the study was the overall shift on the Loess Plateau from relatively severe erosion to slight erosion from 2000 to 2010.
