One of the industry partners was very clear about his impact on the instructor, while the other recognized a more general impact.
The first cited specific development techniques (Agile) and multiple pedagogical techniques that he believes he helped the instructor incorporate into the course and other courses. This partner indicated that he had a broad and important impact on the instructor that has resulted in important changes to the program. The other partner struggled to articulate an impact on the instructor, indicating that perhaps his contrasting teaching style may have influenced the instructor.
Both partners reported having a positive experience, and were glad they participated. One noted that he enjoyed sharing his expertise in order to help prepare students for real work in a field for which he is passionate. The other was excited about sharing his expertise in Scrum, “a methodology that allowed [students] to focus most on the outcome and least on the process of getting to that outcome.”
