The midterm examination is scheduled on November 4. It will consist of three parts: 10 vocabulary questions (20%), 10 grammar questions (20%), and 70% to 80% worth of essay questions.
The vocabulary questions aim to evaluate your knowledge of English roots and word meanings. The grammar questions are to examine your understanding of the 10 sentence patterns and sentence diagraming.
The following thirteen questions are provided for your preparation of the essay questions. Please work with your teammates to make the best of yourself for this coming test.
In the question bank, each question is assigned with 10 or 20 points in the parenthesis. 60 to 70 points of questions will be randomly drawn by the Department Secretary before the midterm examination. So, you have to prepare them equally well.
Remember: you are NOT ALLOWED TO USE dictionary for this test. Please keep the honor code: no cheating at all! The test will last for 100 minutes.
