ConclusionsThe model proposed in this paper suggests that an adequate level ofsafeguarding, coordination, and contingency adaptability provi-sions can optimize trust between the owner and EPC contractorfor improved BIM performance. It also provides useful referencesfor enhancing trust between the contracting parties when draftingBIM contracts in relation to EPC project delivery. This paper hasbroadened the focus of the construction industry to look beyond theconventional EPC contract setting to a place where safeguarding isno longer the only domain to secure the parties’ resources, but itshould also emphasize an adequate level of coordination andcontingency adaptability in improving the BIM deliverables andoverall EPC project performance.
