Now here I was, 2000 miles from seminary and 120 miles from the nearest theological library, sitting in a little office with my one hundred-or-so books. The few books I did have on pastoral ministry only sharpened my questions. My colleagues were as confused as I was. And my wonderful congregation, as helpful as they were, couldn’t walk down this road with me.
