22. Love is the principle characteristic of God as He encounters His children. The gift of God, eternal life, is the life of God given to us through, in, and by the Spirit. The principle evidence of the Spirit’s divine indwelling is love because God is love. Without love there is not life because the life of God in us is evidenced by His life revealed, love. Those who do not love God do not possess His life, and to not possess His life is to incur His wrath. Are you not glad that God allowed you to know Him? Are you not glad that He put His love in your heart? Maybe the question should be: do you have the love of God in your heart? If not, you must turn to Him asking for the love revealed in Jesus and imparted by the Spirit.23. The Lord is coming, Maranatha! It was the cry if the earliest Christians and should be ours. Do you often think of the Lord’s return and the implications for your life? He is coming. Are you living in a way, engaging in activities, filled with thoughts you know would be an embarrassment if the Lord returns tomorrow? The Lord’s return is elsewhere describes as a purifying hope (“he that has this hope in him purifies himself even as he is pure”). In what ways is His coming that for you?
